Sambaza is a convenient Safaricom service that allows you to share airtime with friends and family. Whether you're running low on airtime or simply want to help someone out, this guide will walk you through four simple steps to sambaza airtime.

There are four ways to do it:

1. mySafaricom App

• Log in to your mySafaricom app.
• Navigate to the bottom right and tap Buy Airtime Option.
• Choose 'Other' Option.
• Enter or search for the recipient's number via the search icon.
• Put the Amount.
• Click on Next.
• A confirmation message will pop up for recipient verification.
• Click Send.

2. USSD

• To initiate an airtime transfer Dial symbol (*) followed by 140 then another star (*) followed by desired airtime amount, another asterisk (*) then the recipient's mobile number, followed by hash symbol (#)
  That is, *140*40*0701234567#
• Press call button to send.
• Await for confirmation message after the request is sent.

3. Message

• Access your phone's messages.
• Launch a new message
• Enter recipient's number as 140
• Put the desired sharing amount in the text field, followed by the hash (#) and the phone number you wish to top-up.
  Let's say 20#0701234567
• You will receiving a message to confirm that the airtime has been sent

4. SIM Applications

• Navigate to SIM Toolkit > Safaricom+ >> My Account >>Sambaza
• Select between Prepay Sambaza and Postpay Sambaza.
• Enter the transfer amount.
• Search SIM contacts or key in the phone number
• Send
